The Cub Chronicle

I would like to take this oppurtunity to welcome you your student to my classroom. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you soon. This is my very first year teaching. I graduated from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan just last year. It's been a long journey to where I am but I am so glad to finally be here.

I have been married for almost 9 years. My husband is originally from the Philippines which is nearly half way around the world from here. We have an 8 year old son, Andrew, who will be in 3rd grade this year. We also have 2 dogs and 4 cats. Our dog Rex is a Bull Mastiff/Golden Retriever mix. He looks like a black golden retriever with a really fat head. Our other dog Petie is a beagle mix and he looks nothing like a beagle. Two of our cats, Hello Kitty and Sunny, are all orange tabby and the other two, Morris and Toby, are orange tabby and white. As you can tell I love animals. My very favorite animal is the Leopard which you will see throughout my website and my classroom.

I grew up on a dairy farm in a very small town in Michigan. I have two brothers and one sister. They are all older than me. I have three nephews and three nieces. One of my nephews and two of my nieces live in the Philippines. My other two nephews are brothers and live in Michigan. Their cousin, my other niece, lives in Michigan as well. well enough about me... let's talk about the school year.

It's going to be an exciting and fun year. The first week of school we are going to concentrate on getting to know each other and getting comfortable in our new classroom. I will be posting online and sending home a newsletter about what we are doing each week. It is so important that parents stay connected to what is happening in the classroom.
